The beginning! We're engaged!!
Hello everyone and welcome to our blog! I'm so excited to start planning the wedding. So I know you are all wondering how Cole proposed. For those of you who don't know how we met, I'll tell you now. Cole and I went to college together at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA. Cole and I met at a lacrosse party on campus in the Fall of 2003 (Cole played Lacrosse there..fyi). Since it was near the beginning of the year everyone was talking about where they were from. Cole, his friend and roommate, James, were at the party and they were both from Salt Lake, so I started talking to them since we were all from Utah. We started talking about where we went to high school and what not and Cole and I just hit it off! There is more but I'm going to fast forward to the proposal. So Cole proposed to me on Valentine's Day which I wasn't really expecting since he said he refused to propose on a holiday...I'm thinking now he said it just to throw me off. We went to the Ute's basketball game and then played some open gym basketball earlier in the day which was a lot of fun. We then got dressed up and went to dinner at a Japanese restaurant in downtown SLC called Shogun. It's a great place and every time we go it is always dead, so we figured that we wouldn't need reservations....boy were we wrong! We waited an hour to get a table, but it was well worth it. We had a great dinner and then headed back to watch a movie. He said he wanted to watch Love Actually, which is one of my favorites!! I went in the bedroom to get something and all of a sudden I hear Cole yelling from the other room "Eesh, what is this...what is going on here???" So I yell "what are you talking about" and he says "get out here right now." So I come out to the front room and there he is down on one knee holding out a ring. Of course I start crying and freaking out and he then asks me to marry him. Of course I said yes!!! So that is our story so far! Keep checking back for updates!
